Orange Dream


Here is a fun breakfast drink. I made this for my husband's birthday.


serves 4 ( 4 points +)



  • 6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. skim milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ⅓ c. sugar
  • 10 ice cubes



Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

Choco-Nana Smoothie





serves 1 ( 5 points+ )



  • 1 small banana
  • 4 oz. non-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 2 T. Hershey's chocolate syrup
  • ½ c. skim milk
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla
  • 3-4 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and thickened, then get your straw!

Apple Cider Floats




Here is a fun fall drink that you can serve with dinner or as a dessert.


serves 1 ( 6 points +)



  • ½ c. low-fat vanilla ice-cream ( such as Edy's double churned)
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • ¼ c. diet ginger ale



Place ice-cream in a tall glass, add cider and ginger ale.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie


A great snack or light breakfast drink!

serves 4 ( 3 points+)

  • 1-½ c. Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla Yogurt
  • 2 large bananas
  • 3 c. frozen strawberries


Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

Minted Lemon-Lime Watermelon Fresca



I made this delicious drink the other night to go along with Chicken with Watermelon Salsa,
Chili Roasted Potatoes, salad and Cherry Upside Down Cakes. It was very refreshing.

serves 9 ( 3 points +)

  • 1-¼ c. water
  • ½ c. sugar
  • ⅓ c. coarsely chopped fresh mint
  • 1 T. grated lime rind
  • 1 T. grated lemon rind
  • 12 c. cubed seeded watermelon
  • ¼ c. lime juice
  • 3 T. lemon juice


Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan; bring to a boil and cook for 30 seconds or until sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; stir in mint, lime rind and lemon rind. Let stand for 20 minutes. Strain mixture over a bowl. Discard solids.

Place ⅓ of sugar mixture and watermelon in a blender. Process until smooth. Repeat two more times. Serve over ice.

Strawberry Mint Iced-Tea

We've been making some iced-tea around here lately and today I decided to try a new twist. It was very refreshing and summer-y! I think next time I may add some fresh strawberrries!



serves 8 ( 0 points +) add additional points for sweetener

6 Celestial Seasonings Strawberry tea bags
2 mint tea bags
4 c. boiling water
3 c. cold water
ice

Steep tea bags in boiling water for 6-7 minutes. Remove tea bags and add sweetener if using ( I used honey) Pour over ice water. Serve with fresh strawberries if desired.

Apple Pie Smoothie


I came up with a new recipe using the Vanilla Smoothie mix from "Weight Watcher's". It tasted just like apple pie! You get one fruit serving and one dairy serving for only 2 points!

serves 1 ( 2 points)

1 small apple, cored and cut into wedges. Leave skin on
1 vanilla smoothie mix
1 c. water
several ice cubes
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or to taste

Spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add apple wedges. Cook, stirring often. Cover and steam until softened.
Place apples and remaining ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth.

Peach Iced Tea




Serves 8 (0 points)

4 c. boiling water
4 c. cold water
8 bags Celestial Seasonings Peach Passion Tea
4 small peaches, pitted and sliced into 8 slices each
1/2 c. Splenda

Place boiling water in a heat proof pitcher. Add the tea bags and steep for 6-8 minutes. Add the Splenda and stir until dissolved. Add cold water to this mixture. Place 4 peach slices in each glass along with ice. Pour tea over ice.
