Strudel Sticks








I had to include a few fun pictures with this one!

Streudel Sticks: serves 12 ( 5 points +)

  • 1 box frozen puff pastry ( 2 sheets) thawed
  • 5 oz. reduced fat cream cheese
  • 5 T. sugar
  • 4 T. strawberry jam
  •  1 tsp. coarse sugar
  • 1 T. sliced almonds, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
Unfold puff pastry and cut each sheet into 6 rectangles. Spoon about a tablespoonful of cream cheese mixture into the center of each pastry; spread to about 1/2 inch from edge. Spoon 1 tsp. jam over cream cheese mixture. Roll each, jelly roll fashion, starting at the long side. Brush edges with water and seal seams. Place seam side down on baking sheets sprayed with cooking spray. Brush each streudel with water and make three slits in the top with a sharp knife. Sprinkle with coarse  sugar and almonds.  Bake about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cool. These are nice to serve with a scoop of ice-cream.
